Trust in politicians reaches its lowest score in 40 years. Ipsos Veracity Index reveals that the proportions of people who say they trust politicians and Government Ministers to tell the truth have reached their lowest scores since the survey began in 1983.

They are not trustworthy!

The research agency BritainThinks has suggested that while trust has always been low, there may have been a recent shift to the public calling into question the basic competence of their leaders and institutions — the feeling that they can’t even get the basics right.

They don't develop themselves!

Only 12% of the British public said they trusted political parties, down from 20% in the same survey run in 2022, the Office for National Statistics said on Friday. Approximately 68% said they distrusted political parties.

- General lack of trust among common public, reputation in need of repair, party politics overshadowing public interest, short-sightedness (wishing to only win and remain in power), questionable self-actualisation.

3. But we have Political Advisors & Consultants, then what is the difference between them and a coach?

- A coach for political leaders enhances personal development, focusing on leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and effective communication. Conversely, a political advisor provides strategic insights, crafting policy, campaign tactics, and public messaging. Coaches nurture the leader's individual capabilities, while advisors steer political direction and decision-making.

4. What is SIMPLE?

5. Is this a group coaching or one-on-one?

- Given the nature of the profession (politics), coaching sessions are always one-on-one (online, face-to-face, or both).

- Coaching benefits leaders who are serious about their own discovery and development first. If that is not important to a leader, then no coaching is required.

- It is possible as it has happened with some of my clients. Remember though that coaching focuses on personal development and influence, not electoral success. But the former may lead to the latter if you follow the SIMPLE framework.
